Additional comments (e.g., about course content/materials, teaching style, etc.):
This teacher was by far one of my favorite at Maryland. She was very passionate about the subject and communicated the material in an effective way. Also she was a very fair grader and was very willing to help if there were any issues.
I remembered a lot from my elementary and middle school years, so it was very easy.
The content is appropriate for elementary teacher candidates although I'm in ECE. I'm aware that there is an overlap of grades 1-3 for early childhood and elementary teachers, the content was solely intended for elementary students that I felt it was not applicable in the field I wish to teach.
I think the best attribute of Ms. McLaughlin was that she looked out for every student. If students were not present in class she would send out emails so that the students who missed class did not fall behind. I believe that she genuinely wanted everyone in the class to succeed.
Beth's teaching style really helped me understand the material. I have always struggled with math so having a teacher that was easy to follow and willing to help was really great. She is a wonderful teacher and I do not think I would have passed the class if I had had a different teacher.
She was a very good teacher. She helped us understand things when we were confused, and allowed us to come in during office hours. Even when other students were disrespectful, she appropriately asked them to stop and continued to teach the rest of the class.
The teacher taught concepts a little too quickly but overall I feel like I thoroughly learned the course material.
Slow down a little. other than that good job!
teacher was great! graded fairly and made everything clear.
The teacher was excellent in making sure the students understood the material and always asked if we had questions.
