Addendum to Syllabus

Grading

Weekly quizzes and homework will account for 100 points out of the 600 point grade. There will be approximately ten quizzes throughout the semester.

Homework dates given on the syllabus represent the date you should start the homework. We will spend the first part of the following class reviewing the homework and preparing for the next assignment. Homework will be collected every Monday and returned, graded, on Wednesday.

Quizzes will generally be given on Fridays and cover the homework you turned in that week, plus some material from class on Monday. Quizzes will generally be returned the Wednesday after the quiz.

Homework will be worth less than quizzes. The average homework assignment will be worth around five points, while the average quiz will be worth around ten points.

Make-up quizzes

Make-up quizzes will only be given if you have a University recognized excuse, such as a religious observance or doctor's note. The rule is the same as for exams.
